The making of a disciple

The Bible tells us of several habits for growth for every Follower of Jesus.
These are not necessarily steps in linear order, nor are they intended to be a legalistic formula,
but simply essential pieces that need to be in place as we become disciples,
followers of Jesus, growing in our faith and involved in the lives of others to make disciples.

Habit #1 - TRUST

It all beings here, repenting of our sin and believing, trusting God to save us. This is what the Bible means by “Fatih.”

Habit #2 - OBEY

Jesus said, “If you love me, obey my commands.” “Anyone who does not love me will not obey my teaching.” (John 14:15, 24) Jesus told his disciples to make disciples of the nations, “…teaching them to obey everything I have commanded you.” (Matthew 28:20) If we really want to be a Follower of Jesus, we must obey him.

Habit #3 - BAPTISM

Baptism is an important first step in becoming a Follower of Jesus. It’s a picture of washing away our sins, and also the death and burial of our old self and the resurrection of the new person God is making us. If you’re ready, click this link to be included in our next baptism class.

Habit #4 - COMMUNITY

When we believe, we are also reconciled to each other and become members of God’s Family. We need each other and must be in community.

Habit #5 - WORSHIP

Humans were made to worship our Creator, expressing our praise, thanks, adoration to God.

Habit #6 - READ

We all need to have consistent time in God’s Word, the Bible. In it we learn how to live according to God’s design.

Habit #7 - PRAY

Communicating with God brings us close to him and enriches our relationship with him. Prayer can accomplish great things.

Habit #8 - DISCOVER

Habit #9 - SERVE

We are made to do good by serving others. (Ephesians 2:10; 4:16)

Habit #10 - GIVE

Learning to trust God with our money is important for every believer.
(Luke 6:38; 2 Corinthians 9:6-11)

Habit #11 - LEARN & SHARE

Learn a story from Jesus that helps you tell people your story, why you believe and follow him, like the blind man whom Jesus healed said, “One thing I do know, I was blind but now I see!”

Habit #12 - DISCIPLE

We all need to become disciple-makers, Jesus Followers who invest in the lives of others to help them also follow Jesus.
